In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, people are increasingly turning to social media for information about the virus. Unfortunately, it's not always easy for users to recognize fake news:
"The more you rely on social media for your news, the more likely you are to be prone to this dynamic where you're not only failing to identify fake news as fake, but factual information as true," says professor Sarah Kreps, Milstein faculty fellow on COVID-19 misinformation.
