New M Studio: A Talk with Prof. Matthew Wilkens

The Milstein Program's April 20th M Studio event will feature Prof. Matthew Wilkens (Info Science) and is entitled "Mining for Meaning: The Novel as Data Set."  Prof. Wilkens will talk about his work with literary text mining, geolocation extraction, genre detection, and the cross-pollination of critical and social-scientific methods.  He is the director of the Textual Geographies project, a co-investigator of the Text Mining the Novel project, a founding editorial board member of the Journal of Cultural Analytics, and the author of Revolution: The Event in Postwar Fiction.  Prof. Wilkens will be joined by members of the Digital Humanities Club. 

A catered reception will follow Prof. Wilkens' talk.  

 

Prof. Wilkens' M Studio talk will take place at the Howard and Abby Milstein Auditorium on Wednesday, April 20 at 5pm.  This event is open to the public.  Learn more about this event here.
