Anticipated Minor: Computer Science
It all started when I was Christmas caroling at a senior living facility and noticed a resident taking care of a baby doll. At first, I was intrigued by how she was so engaged with the doll, which sparked my interest in dementia and doll therapy. I began researching the science behind dementia. I learned how doll therapy can lessen stress, aggression, and wandering. Through this, I was able to learn about the need for more assistive technology. I hope to study anthropology and its interdisciplinary implications, and I am excited to have a chance to work on projects where I can address the challenges faced among various cultures associated with the rising of the aging population. I love crafting, crocheting, thrifting, and listening to music!
