Throughout my life, I’ve been immersed in the outdoors, learning how the natural world can be a space for character growth and exploration. I’ve discovered grit from mountain bike races, problem-solving from building a campfire, and teamwork from long backpacking trips. That context guides how I apply my interest in programming. I believe that when technology is grounded in context, it can help us learn from nature and work with it – rather than against it.
At Cornell, I focus on finding technical inspiration through classes, clubs, and computational projects, but I also devote time to enriching my understanding of the context that surrounds my work. Environmental studies, outdoor excursions, creative practices, and exploring new things are equally important to me as developing computer science skills.
