I have always been captivated by the stories of strangers. I wanted to know where people came from, why places changed, and what histories, choices, and circumstances shaped their perspectives. Some of that curiosity came from my grandfather, who is indigenous to North Africa. Growing up, I listened to stories about places that felt distant yet deeply personal at the same time.
Today, I hope to become a photojournalist in the Middle East. I'm fascinated by the power of images to shape how we understand the world and the responsibility that comes with telling other people's stories. Through Near Eastern Studies, I want to explore the histories, cultures, and political realities of the region while researching how photography, journalism, and emerging technologies influence public perception and preserve cultural memory.
What draws me to the Milstein Program is its belief that technology and humanity cannot be separated. As information increasingly moves through algorithms, digital platforms, and artificial intelligence, I want to understand how we can use these tools to tell more accurate, ethical, and human stories.
Outside the classroom, I rarely sit still for long. I love going to the movies, watching Formula 1, running, rock climbing, ice skating, and spending entire days wandering somewhere I've never been before.
