Certain musicians have pushed the boundaries of sound to its limits. Tom Scholz, one of my personal favorite guitarists of all time, used his prowess in mechanical engineering to develop his own pedals and effects, creating a sound unheard of. That debut album with his band, “Boston,” has stuck with me for years and still manages to inspire me. In a way, it proved to me that technology and music are intertwined for the purpose of creating something beautiful.
At the Milstein Program, I plan to explore sound manipulation and algorithmic composition, combining aspects of music theory and theoretical computer science. I believe that any musician should be able to create the sound they want, regardless of the expensive barriers that come with proper equipment and software. To me, although I may not build physical guitar pedals like Scholz, I want to combine my passions for programming and music to create digital tools that allow anyone to produce a sound the world has never heard before.
In my free time, I love watching soccer, and I am a huge FC Barcelona fan. And most of all, I love playing guitar and listening to music!
