Milstein students in AS1111 First-Year Project were tasked with creating a 3-5 minute audio story edited and refined from an interview with a community partner. Organizations involved in helping to produce these audio stories were Civid Theater Ensemble, Open Doors English, and Lifelong. Each audio piece reflects the storytelling values discussed in class: a clear mental image, a clear protagonist, some conflict or desire, a crescendo or climax, leading to a reflection. In preparation for their interviews, students learned interviewing and storytelling skills with consultants from Story House Ithaca.
