Any time from sophomore to senior year, Milstein scholars can apply for up to $500 in funding to support travel related to academic or career development pursuits (for example, attending a conference, travel for research, traveling for an interview, etc.). Allowable expenses include hotel stays, plane tickets, and conference fees.
Students can apply for the fund only once while in the program. Proposals will be accepted on a rolling basis and funds will be disbursed as reimbursement after the proposed opportunity.
Students who are awarded travel grant funding must write a short reflection (1 page single-spaced) to be submitted no more than two weeks after the trip/experience.
Application Guidelines
Students should submit the following materials as one .pdf file:
- Cover sheet with name, netID, major, where you are traveling and when you are traveling
- 1-2 paragraph description of why the funds are needed and how the opportunity will benefit your academic or career development.
- Tentative travel itinerary
- Estimated budget (feel free to use the blank budget calculation doc as a guide) - students will be asked to save all receipts and submit them for reimbursement. The funding will be disbursed after the travel occurs.
Deadline: Rolling. Please send all application materials in a single .pdf to the Program Manager or to milsteinprogram@cornell.edu.
