As an avid dancer throughout high school, I learned the great capacity that art has to move, inspire, and unite people from all walks of life. I hope to explore how we can utilize art and other disciplines to not only inform but enrich technology.

Although technology has impacted the world positively in so many ways, I think that it is important to evaluate and always question whether they are used to promote a more equitable world. Through mathematical research about speech recognition in high school, I became fascinated in the potential of combining tools such as linguistics, artificial intelligence and activism to improve access to technology for people who are traditionally underrepresented.

I am especially excited about the Milstein program’s great emphasis on community-based projects because I firmly believe that through engagement with humanity we can find solutions to the world’s most pressing issues. I am honored to have the opportunity to explore the intersections between all my interests alongside passionate peers.
