Research Question:
How can real-time hand gesture recognition be used to control music playback and transitions in a DJ interface?
Project Summary:
I'm developing WaveJockey, a gesture-controlled DJ tool that lets users play, pause, and manipulate music using hand movements. The system uses an open-source hand detection model with Python and the Spotify API to recognize gestures like "open" and "closed" and map them to DJ actions. My final deliverable will be a demo video showcasing the working prototype web app.
